Is this food produced with a guarantee of no-cross contamination from the facility?
Answer by
•
Apr 18, 2021
Natural Balance products are manufactured on shared machinery. However, they take every precaution to minimize the risk of cross contamination between production runs. To reduce the risk of cross contamination, the manufacturing lines are thoroughly flushed between each production run. The lines are completely cleaned per the facility’s Food Safety Plan in compliance with FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Audits are also performed on a regular basis by their Quality Assurance Team. Further, several samples are also taken throughout each production run for Quality Assurance inspection as well as their Buy With Confidence laboratory testing. For this reason, if a pet has a medical condition such as allergies, it is advisable that the pet parent consult with their veterinarian prior to starting on any of their products.

This food is manufactured in the USA. The manufacturer will source its high-quality ingredients within the United States depending on availability. Game changer
I started gradually changing my GSD's diet a month ago. Her allergies were off the chain. I needed help, so after turning to my group on Facebook and reading reviews, this was the product I chose. She seems to love this food. Her system seems to be adjusting well, too. The food in conjunction with an Rx med and two skin and allergy supplements seems to help. I would highly recommend this brand for anyone whose animal may be experiencing allergy issues.

Great Food, Very Stinky(positive)
Our pup loves this food and is still excited about it every time we feed her. We thought we were doomed to rotate her foods every few months as she's very picky, but this is still a hit. It has a strong fish smell, which she loves, doesn't seem to affect her breath much.

Did not work for our dog.
Our dog has been suffering with diarrhea and we are trying to find a food that works for him. Unfortunately this one did not. I gave 3 stars because this is a single animal protein, and can help us rule out food sensitivities as we try something else.

Delicious
Our dog was itching, losing hair and his skin looked inflamed. We switched to Natural Balance and in less than a week all his symptoms were gone and he gobbles it down in seconds. His hair is growing back and his coats is shiny and thick.

Daisy Loves This Food
Daisy is a mutt, definitely some Great Dane, Black Lab and she unfortunately has bad allergies. Vet recommended this food and she absolutely loves it. It’s very expensive for a big dog that eats a good amount but worth it because she has been doing so much better.

Rebranding + Ingredient change?
My 12 year old has been eating this formula for years without issues. However, we received our first "new" bag earlier this month after the rebranding. Since then, my dog has been dealing with stomach issues all month. After removing various things from her diet and adding them back in, the culprit seems to be the new formula. I'm assuming the replacement of sunflower oil with canola oil is causing some issues for my girl who has a sensitive tummy. Chewy support was quick to help. But, I felt like I should leave a review in case anyone else's dog has stomach issues seemingly out of the blue.

my dogs HATE this food
My two dogs, pit mixes, both all but refuse to eat this version of Blue. They have eaten Blue Buffalo for their whole lives and we’ve never had them not scarf down their food until this was substituted due to our usual being out of stock. The dogs both eat half of what they should and it takes them all day to eat just their breakfast.

Made dogs very sick.
Have two 70+ pound dogs one older one younger. After gradually mixing this food in with old food for couple weeks we switched them to just Natural Balance. Both dogs got very sick throwing up for days and refused to eat it anymore. Had to find a new food to try
