Die GIZ unterstützt die Polizeikomponente der ECOWAS finanziell sowie durch Beratung und die Durchführung von Trainingsmaßnahmen.
Das Projekt finanziert zwei Polizeifachkräfte, welche die Abteilung für politische Angelegenheiten, Frieden und Sicherheit ( Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security – PAPS ) der ECOWAS in den Bereichen Training und Evaluierung sowie Logistik unterstützen.
Das Projekt wird mit Unterstützung des vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung ( BMZ ) finanzierten Projekts „ Beratung der ECOWAS-Kommission “ umgesetzt.
GIZ supports the police component of ECOWAS by providing advisory services and financing, and by implementing training measures.
The project finances two police experts who support the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security at ECOWAS in the fields of training, evaluation and logistics.
The project is being implemented with assistance from the ’ Support programme for the ECOWAS Commission ‘, which is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development ( BMZ ).
Von der GIZ unterstützt, verhandelten sie einen Dienstleistungsvertrag mit der zuständigen Behörde, den Mülltransport und die Verwaltung von 31 Sammelstellen und zwei Deponien zu übernehmen.
Auf diese Weise wurden dauerhafte Arbeitsplätze für 520 Jugendliche geschaffen, welche inzwischen in eine staatliche Gesellschaft übergegangen sind.
Die Jugendlichen halten die Stadt weiterhin in einer Weise sauber, die die ausdrückliche Anerkennung der Behörden, der Bevölkerung und der Geber-Organisationen gewann.
With GIZ ’s support, they negotiated a service delivery contract with the relevant authorities, enabling them to take on the task of transporting the waste and running 31 collection points and two disposal sites.
This created permanent jobs for 520 young people, who are now working for a municipal company.
The young people continue to keep the city clean and their work has received accolades from the authorities, the local community and donor organisations.
